The housing stock of 1920’s Colonials, Craftsmen, and 1890’s Victorians, with Mid-Century homes mixed in provides a pleasing patchwork quilt aesthetic. The homes, set amid many (many) large trees, rolling hills, and parks gives the area a picturesque appeal. For the outdoorsy set, the South Mountain Reservation   Maplewood is home to (along with South Orange, West Orange and Millburn), is a nature reserve offering over 2000 acres of wooded area with hiking trails, waterfalls and scenic overlooks. Maplewood is South Orange’s sister town, as the two townships share a school district. Real Estate price points for a single family home can range from the $200,000’s – upwards of $2,000,000 and the market can get competitive for home buyers.
